HighwaySoul uses cookies to keep you logged in, remember your route preferences, and understand which features actually help drivers find real connections. You can turn off non-essential cookies any time in your browser or in our in-app settings - the core dating experience still works.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device - phone, tablet, or laptop - when you visit. They let the site remember information about you between page loads and visits, like whether you are signed in, what state filter you picked on the Dating by State hub, or which testimonials you have already seen.
HighwaySoul uses both session cookies (which disappear when you close the browser) and persistent cookies (which stay until they expire or you delete them). Some are set by us directly, and a small number are set by trusted third-party services we use for analytics and security.
Essential Cookies
Essential cookies are required for the trucker dating site to work. Without them, you cannot sign in, stay signed in, or complete basic actions like sending a wave or saving your CDL verification status. We cannot turn these off because the platform would stop functioning.
- Session ID: keeps you logged in as you move between pages and dropdown menus.
- CSRF token: protects your account from cross-site request forgery attacks.
- Cookie consent state: remembers which categories you accepted so we do not nag you on every visit.
- Load balancer routing: sends you to the same server during a session for a smoother experience.
Analytics Cookies
Analytics cookies tell us, in aggregate, which pages drivers actually read, where Co-Pilot members drop off, and which corridors generate the most matches. We do not use them to identify you personally - just to make the product better.
For example, analytics helped us learn that drivers spend an average of 4 minutes 20 seconds on our guide to dating a truck driver, which told us long-form advice content was worth investing in. You can opt out of analytics cookies without losing any dating functionality.
Marketing Cookies
Marketing cookies help us reach the right audience - CDL drivers, owner-operators, and Co-Pilot admirers - on social platforms and search engines without spamming people who are not looking for a trucker dating app. They also let us measure whether an ad you saw actually led to a meaningful sign-up.
These cookies may track your interaction with HighwaySoul across other sites within the same advertising network. They are strictly optional. Turn them off and the dating experience is identical - you may just see less relevant ads on other websites.
Third-Party Cookies on HighwaySoul
A small set of trusted partners place their own cookies on our pages to power features we do not build in-house. Here is the full list, why it is there, and what category it falls into.
| Provider | Purpose | Category |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 | Aggregated traffic and behavior analytics | Analytics |
| Cloudflare | Bot protection, DDoS mitigation, performance | Essential |
| Stripe | Premium subscription payment fraud checks | Essential |
| Meta Pixel | Measurement of ad campaigns on Facebook and Instagram | Marketing |
| Google Ads | Conversion tracking for search and YouTube ads | Marketing |
Each third-party provider publishes its own privacy policy. We review them annually and remove any partner that does not meet our bar for honest data handling - the same bar we hold ourselves to in our Privacy Policy.
How to Manage Your Cookie Settings
You have three ways to control cookies on HighwaySoul. Pick whichever fits how you use the site.
- Our in-app cookie banner. The first time you visit, you can accept all, reject non-essential, or pick categories. Change your choice any time by clicking Cookie Settings in the footer.
- Your browser settings. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Steps differ by app:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
- Safari (iOS): Settings → Safari → Privacy & Security.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
- Industry opt-out tools. For advertising cookies, you can use the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out at optout.aboutads.info or the Network Advertising Initiative at optout.networkadvertising.org.
Heads up for drivers on the road
Blocking essential cookies will sign you out and break the wave, message, and connect buttons. If you want maximum privacy while still using the dating features, block analytics and marketing cookies only.
Updates to This Cookie Policy
We update this Cookie Policy when we add a new third-party tool, change how we use an existing one, or when laws like CCPA, GDPR, or state privacy acts require it. The Last updated date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent change.
If a change is material - for example, adding a new marketing partner - we will surface a fresh banner so you can re-consent. We do not quietly expand what we track.
